Roger
Bruce
Bio
Roger Bruce is Vice President
for Human Resources for Atlanta Life Financial Group. He is also
a State Representative in the Georgia House of Representatives having
been first elected in November 2001.
In his role as VP Human
Resources/Facilities Management he is responsible for all employee
and tenant services. This includes recruitment and retention; training
and management development; legal compliance; benefits; and all
other aspects of Human Resources. In his role as State Representative,
he has served on the Insurance and Education committees. He currently
serves on the Judiciary, MARTOC, Motor Vehicles and Intergovernmental
Coordination Committees.
His focus is on issues
related to children, education, services to senior adults, families
with special needs children and working families. He has been recognized
for his work by many organizations, including A. Phillip Randolph
Elementary School; Herndon Elementary School; All Children Are Special;
Another Way Out; Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and the Georgia
Council on Aging. The Atlanta Police Department recognized him for
his efforts to protect the officers. He organized the community
and business owners in raising money to purchase bullet proof vests.
He serves on the Board
of Trustees at The Interdenominational Theological Center, the Board
Directors for Fulton Atlanta Community Action Authority, Inc. and
All Children Are Special. He is a member of Leadership Atlanta class
of 1980 and the 2006 class of the Flemming Leadership Institute.
He
was born in Harlem, New York. He attended St. Emma Military Academy
and graduated from Morehouse College where he majored in Political
Science. He is married to Angela and has three children Andrea,
Brandon and Ariel.
